Locomotive Cab Rides

We're one of the few museums to offer cab rides in our historic locomotives. We try to make this unique experience available whenever possible, but equipment availability and personnel are a limiting factor. For these reasons, the availability of cab rides is only determined on the day of.

Riders must be 18 years of age or older to ride alone. Seating is limited depending on equipment being used, and riders must remain seated at all times. Requires signed release.

Riders under the age of 18 are permitted when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Younger riders are permitted to sit on the lap of a parent or guardian when seating is limited.

Rides are available only in the following locomotives:

• New Haven #0673 (ALCO RS-1, built 1948) - two seats, or two sitting and one in lap

• Pfizer #1 (EMD SW-8, built 1953) - two seats, or two sitting and one in lap

• Electric Boat Diane (GE 44-Tonner, built 1947) - one seat, or one sitting and one in lap
